Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a poll rally in Srinagar, launched a scathing attack on the Congress, National Conference (NC), and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), accusing them of depriving Jammu and Kashmir’s youth of opportunities and education. Modi alleged that these three families, who have dominated the political landscape of the region, put “stones in the hands of the youth” to advance their political agendas, while he is committed to providing them with books, laptops, and opportunities for growth.
Speaking at the rally, PM Modi said, “The youth of Jammu and Kashmir were kept away from education, and these three families were content putting stones in their hands. They ruined an entire generation for their own benefit. My goal is to ensure that no more generations are lost to this political exploitation.” He further emphasized his administration’s focus on restoring peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir by providing the youth with better educational and employment opportunities.
Modi also accused the Congress, NC, and PDP of engaging in “dynasty politics” and said, “These families believe it’s their birthright to hold onto power by any means necessary. But now, the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are challenging them and are determined to create a brighter future for themselves.”
Highlighting the changes under his leadership, PM Modi pointed out that schools, colleges, and institutions like AIIMS and IITs are being established across the region. “Today, our youth hold pens, books, and laptops, not stones. The era of fear and anarchy is over,” he added.
The Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections are being held after a decade-long gap, with voting taking place in three phases. The first phase occurred on September 18, and the remaining rounds are scheduled for September 25 and October 1. The election results will be announced on October 8.
