Earlier this year, Varun Dhawan reprised his role as Bhediya in Aditya Sarpotdar’s Munjya, alongside Sharvari, Abhay Verma, and Mona Singh. Now, fans of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 have been buzzing with excitement ever since the trailer dropped, wondering if Varun Dhawan would make an appearance as Bhediya. The speculation can now be put to rest—Varun has confirmed his special appearance in the much-anticipated sequel.
Bhediya Steps Into Stree’s World
On Thursday, Varun Dhawan delighted his fans by sharing a teaser of the song “Khoobsurat,” which features his cameo in Stree 2. The romantic track, set to release on Friday, has already generated significant excitement. In his post, Varun hinted at the crossover between Stree and Bhediya, saying, “Iss Stree ki khoobsurti ka kaun hai yeh naya aashiq? #Khoobsurat Song Out Tomorrow! #Stree2, the legend returns this Independence Day, 15th August. Bhediya se yeh mulaqat #Khoobsurat rahi!”
This isn’t the first time the two actors have shared the screen in the horror-comedy universe. Shraddha Kapoor made a cameo in Bhediya‘s hit track “Thumkeshwari,” and Varun Dhawan also appeared in Munjya, another film in the same cinematic universe.
Fans Can’t Contain Their Excitement
The teaser has left fans eagerly awaiting the full song, with many taking to social media to express their excitement. Comments like “LOOK AT THEM THAT’S CALLED CHEMISTRY” and “My babies are coming together” flooded the post. Another fan exclaimed, “This is the reunion we were waiting for, we love you @varundvn @shraddhakapoor.”
About Stree 2
Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, is set to release on August 15. The film is a sequel to the 2018 hit Stree, which was both a critical and commercial success. The original film’s music, including tracks like “Milegi Milegi” and “Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe,” became chart-toppers, and the sequel is expected to follow suit.
Stree 2 is part of the broader horror-comedy universe created by Dinesh Vijan, which includes films like Stree, Roohi, and Bhediya. With the crossover between Stree and Bhediya, fans are in for a treat this Independence Day.
